LiveUpdate is now back and fully integrated with the new version of GroundSchool!

It works Great!

If your version of GroundSchool displays a message to the effect that "LiveUpdate is not available", then you have an old version.

If that is the case, please visit www.dauntless-soft.com/PRODUCTS/GroundSchool and download a new version of GroundSchool! The upgrade is free and significantly improved on many fronts, including the addition of an integrated working self-update.

That said..

If You have the New (2006 or greater) version of GroundSchool and the Update is not working for you, it could be because of the following issues:

• because of Internet issues, the server that LiveUpdate runs on is temporarily down. If you suspect that this is the case, please wait a while (a few hours?) and try again.
• you are running an older copy of GroundSchool (and not, indeed, a 2006+ version). If this is the case, please visit the FAA Written Test page and download a new installation package for the software. This will contain a new version of Update.
• you are behind a proxy server or firewall that is incompatible with LiveUpdate. If this is the case, please visit the FAA written test main page and download a complete installation package for the test you are interested in.
• you are using "Internet security" software that is interfering with LiveUpdate. LiveUpdate, of course, needs to connect to the Internet to check for updates. Some security software might see this as suspicious. You'll need to make the necessary adjustments to make sure that your security software will allow LiveUpdate to work.

If update still isn't working for you, just remember: you can always go to the main FAA Written Test Prep page and download a complete new installation for the title that you are interested in and you will be in good shape.
